FANTASIAS

Along with William Byrd, Orlando Gibbons was one of the leading composers and organists in Elizabethan England. His illustrious career at the royal court was cut short when he died suddenly in 1625, aged 41. His fantasias and dances are among the most prized in the repertoire. The six violas of the Hathor Consort let us rediscover this modest but virtuosic music.
