HATHOR
CONSORT
Hathor Consort was founded in 2012 by Romina Lischka, named after Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of music, love, and connection. True to its namesake, the ensemble moves along two intertwining streams: a deep devotion to early music and a bold vision of bridging musical cultures across time and geography.
Under Lischka’s artistic direction, the ensemble centres its programming on the expressive sound world of the Renaissance and Baroque. This refined European chamber music tradition forms the first current of Hathor’s identity.
The second stream flows outward, linking early European repertoire with music of other cultures, both ancient and contemporary. Through collaborations with composers and electronic artists, Hathor invites new textures and global voices into a vibrant dialogue.
These dual threads converge in interdisciplinary performances where sound and image, tradition and innovation meet. Hathor’s concerts become poetic spaces where music, story, and visual art intertwine—awakening shared resonances across cultures and eras. Hathor Consort has recorded with Ramée, Fuga Libera, Outnote – Outhere Music, and Audite. Their recordings have received prestigious honors, including the Diapason d’Or and Klara’s 10.
With its distinctive, multifaceted approach, Hathor Consort has performed at leading festivals and concert halls across Europe and beyond, including: Vienna Konzerthaus, Elbphilharmonie, Warsaw Philharmonic, BOZAR Brussels, Concertgebouw Brugge, de Singel, AMUZ, Wigmore Hall London, Cologne Philharmonie, Philharmonie Essen, Utrecht Early Music Festival, MA Festival Bruges, Osterfestival Tirol, TAM Regensburg, Le Détours de Babel, Sacred World Music Festival Fez, Musikfestspiele Potsdam, Opéra de Rouen, Muziekcentrum De Bijloke Gent, Festival de Sablé, York Early Music Festival, Cēsis Concert Hall, Prague Early Music Festival, and the Valletta International Baroque Festival.
